A half-up hairstyle with twists, pulled back, and any other way is always a great choice when you want comfort and style. But when you want to add a bit of texture, French braids are the perfect option for your half-up hairstyle.
Adding a flat hair clip to secure the braids adds a pop of color and allows you to lay your head back comfortably so you can wear this look from class or work to watching tv when you want “me time”.
You will need:
To create this look:
- Remove any knots or tangles from your hair with the brush or comb
- Part your hair down the middle so there is a left and a right side.
- On one side take three small to medium strands of hair with the middle strand where you want the braid to start about half way between the temple and center part.
- Cross the right side over the top (French braiding is where you weave over, Dutch braiding goes under) and then cross the left side over.
- Now add another strand underneath and repeat until you get towards the back of your head, then secure this first braid with the hair tie leaving some hair without a braid so it can be secured in the hair clip.
- Repeat on the other side and once you get to the back of your head.
- Release the hair tie from the other braid and secure both in the flat hair clip.
- Last is to style the lower section of hair, including the hair that flows through the bottom of the flat clip to your taste.
