Ready for a new long hair hairstyle for summer? The curly hair, half-up, hair clip French twist is the style you’ve been looking for! It’s perfect for summer because the hair clip keeps your hair pulled off your shoulders and behind your head so you can enjoy a music festival or party without wind blowing your hair everywhere, and so your shoulders can breath.
The curls in the lower section add texture and movement to the style which looks great if you’re at the beach, heading to class, or working a summer job. Best of all once you have the curls set in your hair, the look only takes a minute to create.
Pro-tip: If your hair is prone to breakage or has heat damage, and you have time, use this guide to create heatless curls to reduce adding more heat.
You will need:
- A hair brush
- Curling iron
- Heat protectant for your hair
- 1 large hair clip
- 1 large hair tie
To create this look:
- Brush your hair to remove knots and tangles.
- Separate the top section of your hair around the height of your eyes and gather it at the crown of your head and secure it in a high bun with the hair tie.
- Apply the heat protectant to the lower section of your hair and curl it in sections with the curling iron if you don’t do heatless curls.
- Run your fingers through the curls to loosen them to the desired shape.
- Now release the bun on the top of your head and gather it into a low ponytail then twist the section so it forms a coil and fold it against the back of your head.
- Fan the hair over the coil so it looks clean and even, then secure it with the hair clip.
- Run your hands through the lower section of hair to style it the way you’d like.
